Photo 1 of 7
An extremely rare and interesting Scottish Provincial silver Wine Label of curved double scroll form with swags supporting a vacant oval cartouche, engraved for Port in a distinctive cross-hatched style and with a border of engraved laurel leaves.
Makers mark only 'RN' struck four times, probably for Robert Naughton of Inverness c1830.
See; ""Wine Labels 1730-2003"" edited By John Salter, fig 898 and text page 271 for a similar example for Sherry.
