A good quality small early 20th century silver Hip Flask of curved rounded rectangular form, the hinged lid with bayonet closure, cork stopper and gilded interior, the flask enameled on both sides in red and blue enamel with the legend - "NOT TO BE TAKEN".

By The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Ltd, London 1914.

Possibly for use as a medicine or poison bottle, but more likely as a pun or witticism to preserve the contents of ones hip flask!
