A good early 20th century silver and enamel Vesta Case, of plain rectangular form with sprung flat-top hinged lid, the face enamelled with the house flag and the name of the Steamship "ELWY"

The Steamship Elwy, at 242 tons, was a large two-funneled vessel, operating on the Shannon estuary and well suited to the more exposed waters of the Irish Sea. She was built in 1866 and was 210 ft in length by 25 ft in breadth.
