A rare early Victorian novelty silver Propelling Pencil combined with a Toothpick, made in the form of a Percussion Musket, the engraved butt with hinge-lidded lead reservoir to heel. The pencil within the barrel is ejected by sliding the ramrod which is also the toothpick. The barrel stamped: ""G.Wheeler Novr 9 1840. No 454"
