A fine quality miniature or midi sized Edwardian silver mounted twin-pack "Pop-Up" Playing Cards Box, of rectangular form with hinged top, standing on four pierced spade feet, the four beveled glazed panels covering four colourful contemporary playing cards from Charles Goddall's ""Historic Series"". The internal leather covered sprung pop-up mechanism presents the two packs for use when the lid is opened. Complete with two packs of contemporary patience cards by Charles Goodall of London.

This is a smaller version of these Edwardian silver mounted glazed Playing Cards Boxes, just 90mm tall, as opposed to the more usual full size version approximately 130mm tall.

The Court Cards come from a pack made by Charles Goodall in the late 19th century known as ""Goodall's Historic"". They depict Royal costumes from four reigns in English history, viz:-
Clubs - Plantagenet
Diamonds - Tudor
Hearts - Stuart
Spades - Hanoverian

In fine condition with no damage or repair to the silver, glass or leather interior and in full working order. The King of diamonds card just slightly faded
