An extremely rare George III Provincial silver Wine Label of neo-classical design, the curved nameplate incised for Sherry with drapes at either end, an oval cartouche above engraved with contemporary script initials and supported by leaves and festoons, with tied ribbon surmount, bright-cut engraved decoration. The label attached by a single scrolled jumper ring to the long suspension chain.

By Robert Scott II, Newcastle c1790-93.

This is one of the only recorded pair of this design by Robert Scott, the other being for Port.
