George III Silver "Little Miss Muffet" Nursery Rhyme Vinaigrette

An extremely rare and fine quality small George III silver Vinaigrette of rectangular form with canted corners, the base engraved with a rectangular cartouche with contemporary initials, the cover engraved vertically with the nursery rhyme character "Little Miss Muffet" seated on her tuffet, eating her curds and whey, a spider suspended on a long thread beside her. The silver gilt interior with a die-stamped silver gilt pseudo filigree grille of three flower heads.
