Each section is carved individually giving very good definition, and held by gold bars within the framework of the lid border. The border of the lid is finely carved and inset with gold flower heads. The centre has a panel of plaited hair under glass within a gold frame. The lid base is gold mounted and the case has its original mirror and lining.
