A very fine quality early 20th century German silver and enamel Cigarette Case with matching Vesta Case en suite.
Both pieces with beautifully painted enamel scenes depicting a racehorse with jockey up.
The Cigarette Case of rounded rectangular form with sprung hinged opening mechanism and silver gilt interior, the reverse engraved with the owners initials - "V.G". The Vesta Case with a similar monogram to the reverse and a sprung flip-top lid with cabochon ruby thumb piece and a gilded interior.

By Louis Kuppenheim, Pforzheim, Germany c1924. (The Cigarette Case has the Kuppenheim mark used c1912-24 and the Vesta has the c1924-30 mark).
