A rare George III silver Sauce Label of rounded rectangular form with hobnail cut border, a domed surmount engraved with a leaf and scrolls, incised for Pouverade (an alternative spelling of the French Sauce - Poivrade. Sauce Poivrade is a traditional French recipe for a classic peppered brown sauce made from a brown stock base with red wine, vinegar, vegetables, peppercorns and juniper berries that's typically served with game and barbecued meats).
