A rare Victorian heavy quality silver Vesta Case, of rounded rectangular form with sprung hinged lid and gilded interior, the face with inset rotating hand, the ringed finger pointing at the engraved numbers from 1 to 10 on a circular scale. The reverse engraved with initials and dated 29.8.06.
By Sampson Mordan & Co, London 1896. Retailed by Pearce & Sons.
The purpose unknown, but probably for Gaming or Sporting use.
