An early 20th century Continental silver gilt or gilt metal and enamel novelty telescopic Propelling Pencil formed as an Egyptian Mummy, the body decorated with hieroglyphics in multi-coloured enamels. Attached marked suspension ring.
Probably made in Germany c1900, but also possibly made in Egypt in the 1920's following the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamen.
