A rare Victorian silver 'Castle Top' Vinaigrette of rectangular form with engine turned decoration to the base and sides, a vacant shaped cartouche to the base and a raised foliate thumb-piece, the lid engraved with a view depicting St Mary's Redcliffe Church in Bristol.

The engraved scene depicts St Mary's Church before the completion of the spire in 1872. The upper part of the spire went missing in 1446 when it was struck by lightening.
St Mary's is the burial place of Admiral William Penn, father of Quaker William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania.
