A Victorian novelty silver Vinaigrette formed as a snuff mull, mostly plain with a band of applied decoration below the lid, attached suspension ring and chain, the lid engraved and set with various coloured hardstones in a cruciform design, opening with a stand-away hinge and thumb-piece to a silver gilt interior including a pull-out pierced grille with flower head design and attached ring.
