A fine quality and rare Victorian novelty silver combined Propelling Pencil and Paper Knife made in the form of a Officer's Broad Sword, with pull-off scabbard with attached suspension rings, the propelling pencil emerging from the handle on a twist mechanism.

Also engraved with the retailer's mark of W Thornhill, 144 New Bond Street.
Fully hallmarked on both the Sword and the Scabbard.
This model of Sword Paper Knife is extremely scarce with the addition of the pencil.
