A rare Victorian novelty silver Vesta Case made in the form of a Policeman's Bulls Eye Lantern, with clip and handles to the reverse, a striker to the base and the hinged cover opening to reveal the Vesta compartment.
Unmarked, but probably made by Sampson Mordan for Walter Thornhill. Stamped:Thornhill and engraved with diamond registration mark for October 23rd 1873.

In good condition with no damage or repair. A tiny piece of silver missing from rim of lens mount.
