A late 19th century patented American sterling silver and enamel novelty Stamp Case, made in the form of an Envelope. The front enamelled with a 2 cents stamp and a New York cancellation mark and engraved with the name and address: E N Dickinson, 15 Wall Street, New York City. The reverse enamelled with a received mark for 9th September 1890. Sprung hinged lid and silver gilt interior.

Stamped: 'STERLING' and patent mark for June 24 90. Probably by The Gorham Manufacturing Company, New York, c1890.
