A late 19th century patented American sterling silver and enamel novelty Stamp Case made in the form of an Envelope. The front enameled with a red George Washington 2 cents stamp, a New York cancellation mark for 1891 and the name - "Wife A.D.Poe?". The reverse enameled with a received mark for 12.25.91. The sprung hinged lid opening at one corner and revealing a silver gilt interior stamped: STERLING PAT JUNE 24 90.
