A Victorian silver Vesta case of a patented design, the plain bottle shaped body with knurled ring to the top which rotates to open and close the lid like a camera shutter, a recessed striker to the base.
By Marks & Cohen, Birmingham, 1895. Also stamped: "The Maze" Morton's Patent.
The design was patented in Britain and France in 1895 by Thomas Morton, of Birmingham.
