An extremely rare and unusual Georgian silver Wine Label of triangular escutcheon form, with pointed base and projecting horns, single reed border, incised for LISBON (with large L) and engraved with the crest of Egerton, Earl of Wilton (A bow and three crossed arrows).
Maker’s mark only – ‘WH’, untraced, but possibly Scottish Provincial or North Country. See: The Beecroft Collection sold at Phillips 6.11.1998. Lot 311, for a similar example for CLARET.
