A rare Scottish silver Pipe Case, complete with attached cleaning prong, the hinged cover finely engraved with a crest of a scallop shell and a motto - sic itur in altum (this is the way to heaven). This is the crest and motto of several families but could well be that of Cowan of Edinburgh, Scotland. Complete with original silver mounted sectional Pipe with attached chain and pierced cover.
